Retrashade was started from a passion for everything from the 1950s, realizing that from my own personal experience (and having a large collection of lamp bases myself) the only lampshades that had that true American look were mainly in America, and the cost of postage and customs also coming with American fittings and the worry of condition when it finally arrives, made me realize there has to be another way. How hard can it be, right? Wrong. After months of disastrous trials, even though having previous knowledge of mould making, glassing and working with various resins, it finally happened, that “eureka” moment.

Retrashade offer bespoke fibreglass lampshades that are nothing like what is available on the high street. At Retrashade, we offer mid-century vintage style lampshades with inspired designs from the 1940’s/50’s bringing vintage style American lighting into your home or business.

Retrashade can also refurbish damaged vintage shades, from relacing to recovering.
